Urethane bumper feet are a critical part in many applications from chair leg tips to high-tech medical equipment. Custom urethane bumper feet have the ability to give traction and dampen vibration while capable of holding heavy loads. Custom urethane bumper feet will hold up best in tough applications and will outperform rubber and plastics while holding up to most outdoor conditions.
Most custom urethane bumper feet are made with compression style of molding that will yield parts complete with little to none secondary operations for the finished part often times costing less than OEM replacement rubbers while exceeding the physical properties of the original parts. A core may also be added to the design to help add strength to the part or make it capable of being bolted into place. At Plan Tech we can also design and make the core that we will then blast with a high-pressure blast and apply a high strength bond. The finished core will then be cast into the part creating a chemical bond into the custom urethane bumper feet.
Plan Tech makes all of its own custom molds in-house for speed, accuracy and precision. We control the entire process from design to manufacturing. Mold making is at the very core of what we do. Our machine shop includes CNC Lathes, Mills and Grinders. We also have manual mills as well as a sheet metal and welding area. We have a Flow Water jet with 48×96 inch sheet capabilities and can cut a list of materials like Polyurethane, Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Carbon fiber, and most plastics. The machining of cast polyurethanes requires special skills and dedicated equipment. In many instances, we have developed custom equipment for cutting, trimming, staking and deburring per our customers’ requirements.
