Moly Filled Urethane – Moly Urethane Additives

Moly filled urethane for high friction applications are ideal for long service life. Plan Tech for the last 30+ years has been dedicated to learning new and special applications of existing or replacement OEM parts. Unfilled urethane has excellent physical properties but in high friction or moving parts for the most part urethane is not recommended as it will have a high surface friction.

Molly short for molybdenum disulfide (moly) is an additive we can add into our urethane products to reduce wear by maintaining lubrication under conditions of high friction and shock loads. Our moly filled urethane will wear the same great physical properties as unfilled urethane while providing lubrication even as the urethane parts are worn. During production the moly filled urethane additive will be mixed at a high rate of speed into the urethane while it is still in liquid form, This is the only way we can guarantee that our additive is completely mixed in.

Including the moly filled urethane additive in polyurethane parts does limit the colors available as the additive is gray in color, black pigmented parts generally have the best appearance. Metal backed moly filled urethane parts are also no problem for us and are extremely common. We can bond filled or unfilled urethane on most surfaces for a bond strength greater than the tear strength of the urethane material.

Plan Tech focuses on using speed and precision to manufacture the highest quality industrial cast urethane parts to our customers. A particular strength is the breadth of our in-house capabilities such as grinding urethane parts which, when combined with our extensive experience, enables us to deliver tight tolerance custom moly filled urethane parts while maintaining the quality control and cost effectiveness our customers require. The tests are performed according to an established set of standards provided by an accredited testing organization such as the Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) who define the procedures in detail.
