Polyurethane chain sprockets are produced at Plan Tech in high volume using compression molding which will yield a low-cost high-performance chain sprocket of any number of teeth or pitch required for the applications. Custom molding polyurethane chain sprockets are one of our specialties of any hardness or color.
Polyurethane is an ideal choice of material for chain sprockets due to the ability to absorb an impact and return to the original sizes even after years of repeated abuse even in underwater or outdoor environments. Polyurethane will also help to adapt to any slight alignment mismatch issues in operation. Plan Tech can also reverse engineer any existing polyurethane chain sprockets in rapid time. We recently had a customer come to us having failures using a replacement urethane material. During testing, we found our hot cast TDI based polyurethane sprockets were 200% stronger than the other material and 90% stronger than the OEM equipment.
FDA polyurethane chain sprockets are also available with additives like PolyMag available to make the polyurethane debatable in existing X-ray equipment in case of a failure. Plan Tech can also fabricate any hubbed cores or metal inserts for the complete chain sprocket. Each metalcore or hub will be media blasted with a coating of chemical bonding adhesive before it is molded to ensure a bond strength greater than the tear strength of the material. Our engineering department can turn your idea, sketch, drawing or CAD file into custom urethane parts.
We will reverse engineer to recreate any polyurethane chain sprockets for production or one-off urethane pieces. The engineering department utilizes SolidWorks and our machine shop uses CamWorks for 3 axis milling. Our equipment includes CNC mills, lathes, polyurethane grinders as well as a state of the art urethane waterjet cutting machine. Secondary equipment includes sheet metal, welding, grinding, automated cutoff, broaching and more. We offer complete manufacturing capability for the inserts or cores required for urethane rollers, wheels, bearings, polyurethane chain sprockets and all of your custom urethane parts.
