Plan Tech, Inc. selected to produce thousands of loading dock urethane bumpers

LOUDON, NH., January 22, 2020— Plan Tech, Inc. selected to produce thousands of loading dock urethane bumpers. These polyurethane bumpers are commonly found cast with a rubber material which does not hold up well, Our custom cast urethane dock bumpers can be molded in any size or configuration with the durability of high-performance urethane. These bumpers are critical in many different industries, not only are dock bumpers found in shipping and receiving tractor-trailer bays but also are very common with automated machines coming to rest to deliver a product.  As the machine is in operation the custom-molded urethane loading dock bumper will absorb the impact and return to its original size. Since these special bumpers need to be produced in thousands they also needed to be molded to be cost-effective.

Plan Tech designed a compression mold capable of producing hundreds of urethane loading dock bumpers of tight tolerances with a rapid turn around. Originally our customer was using a rubber bumper that was not holding up especially in wet environments. During testing, our customer found Plan Tech’s extensive molding experience and high-performance materials to outperform the original bumpers by 300% in just physical performance with zero failures.

While the rubber bumper worked for many years in a smaller application we have since won the business of all the existing bumpers due to the incredible ability of high-performance urethane and Plan Tech’s capability of compression molding bumpers of all sizes with rapid turn around resulting in less downtime for our customer. We can incorporate additives that will increase abrasion resistance and add lubricity to keep products from sticking. An Anti-static additive is also common to reduce any static build-up from sliding friction.
