LOUDON, NH., January 5, 2018 —Plan Tech, Inc. selected to produce thousands of urethane wipers for an automated food processor. Custom molded in high volume Plan Tech was selected to produce a variety of different size wipers for special food processors in the packaging industry. Our customer looked at many different types before deciding urethane was the best choice for this application for many reasons.
Urethane is easily molded into almost any shape, food safe and will outperform similar materials 3:1. Urethane also has a longer service life. The urethane material will compress and rapidly return to their original shapes for years to come. During testing, our customer found Plan Tech’s extensive molding experience and high-performance materials outperformed the original rubber wipers by 300%. This will yield parts to print with no secondary process saving you money! Urethane wipers are available in all durometers and sizes. A variety of additives can be added to enhance wear properties or abrasion resistance.
A metal detectable additive can also be added for X-ray equipment required for FDA applications. We also cast FDA Dry food approved Urethane wipers. Polyurethane wipers can be molded with any added thru hole for a hinge or any other configurations as well. We can also make custom urethane wipers without the traditional circular style if your custom application requires a different shape for the polyurethane wipers. Urethane is a great choice for high-pressure sealing devices due such as wipers. We can provide any hardness needed for your application or sealing needs. Custom urethane wiper sizes are no problem for us here at Plan Tech.
