Plan Tech Selected for new Polyurethane Sprockets

LOUDON, NH., May 9, 2017 — Plan Tech, Inc. today announced it was selected to provide polyurethane sprockets to one of North America’s largest farm equipment manufacturers. The polyurethane sprockets will be used in farm equipment to process materials traveling on a conveyor system.
Plan Tech was chosen for its deep sprocket design expertise, product knowledge, and rapid prototyping capabilities. In fact, with this application, we used one of the current sprockets in use to make a mold from to produce sprockets for testing our material. By being able to compare OEM replacements vs. Plan Tech’s high-performance urethane we can proudly say that our hot-cast urethane proved to have 50% greater tear strength than the original plastic parts. By significantly improving the physical properties of the material used such as the tear strength, this allowed our customer to double the size of the conveyor system without modifying any other part of the drive system. These high-performance polyurethane sprockets will reduce equipment downtime saving the end user thousands of dollars which will greatly improve productivity.
