Plan Tech selected to manufacture thousands of urethane gaskets for a large automotive company

LOUDON, NH., September 26, 2017 — Plan Tech, Inc. selected to manufacture thousands of urethane gaskets for an automobile company. Urethane gaskets are essential in the assembly of steering wheel columns and need to meet the safety and to be able to carry immense loads with no issue or noise. Steel on Steel is extremely loud and will radiate any vibration directly into the steering wheel making for an unpleasant ride especially loaded with a lot of weight like going high speed around corners. Rubber coated gaskets have been tested and proved to be a decent fix but require constant maintenance as the rubber will wear quickly. Urethane has been proven to outlast the typical lifespan of vehicles.

Plan Tech was chosen because of our molding capabilities for complex jobs with short lead times. During testing, our urethane gaskets proved to last 300% longer than rubber gaskets with reduced vibrations. Urethane proved to do extremely well in cold climates and not freeze due to an additive called Armoglide which adds lubricity to the urethane gasket has it wears.
