Urethane press pads are cast from high-quality material in any hardness, color, shape or size. Urethane has a great ability to outperform rubber and similar products in high-performance applications like press pads. Most commonly urethane press pads are used in the cutting of product for packaging. FDA applications are no problem as Plan Tech has special formulations for FDA dry food contact which is approved by the USDA. Sometimes urethane press pads are referred to die pads, the different with urethane press pads is most commonly they will have an open center of a profile, when the material to be formed is placed over the press pad and hydraulically pressed down the material will bend into the profile as the urethane compresses. Urethane is an ideal choice not only for its high performance but it’s easy ability to be molded into almost any profile and low-cost replacement cost.
