Urethane wheels recovering are one of the critical services Plan Tech provides. We are able to recover almost any wheel for any application or industry. Urethane wheels are used in many industries and often times impossible to find replacements wheels or are extremely expensive. At Plan Tech we are able to reprocess the existing worn out wheel with a finished product that often times outperforms the OEM originals. After we strip off the old coating in our Machine Shop we will media blast and apply a chemical bonding adhesive to ensure our coating will not delaminate from the wheel even after years of service and abuse. We frequently receive feedback that this is a significant cost saving over purchasing new and last longer than OEM original wheels.
Recovering existing urethane wheels also ensures that the core will fit back onto the machine as if it was brand new without any modifications. We will also replace any bearings or bushings in-house when removing worn our urethane wheels. Custom UWHM bushings will be precision made and installed in every recovered urethane wheel we service. In some cases, we can improve the way your machinery performs by altering the durometer or hardness of the urethane to suit your application or material that you are handling. One common additive we use is called Armorglide which will increase lubricity and abrasion resistance while also keeping foreign matter from sticking to the recovered wheel. Some customers have noted the significant improvement in operations once the rollers were treated with urethane.
If we find that your wheel or hub is completely worn out, no longer true or warped we can machine new ones and recover with urethane so they are back to where you started.
